Who do you write to?
Everyone really. I write to a lot of friends, family and people I’ve met along the way. Every now and again it’s a letter to someone who’s passed away or lived much before my time. Sometimes I write to strangers, like the woman who made my salad for lunch that day, or a soldier serving our country overseas. And best of all, I write to lots of people I’ve never met at the request of their loved ones.
Do you charge for letters?
Not a penny. I so enjoy writing (and having reasons to stock up on pretty paper) letters and what’s better than unexpected mail?!
Does anyone write you back?
Yes! And boy do I love hearing from readers and letter recipients. As much as I delight in writing letters, nothing beats a full mailbox! Here’s my address if you feel so inclined…
Do you have a favorite stationery shop?
I’ve been known to travel for good paper. No really. I have a few favorite shops smattered around the U.S.. And my go-to list here in New York. It’s so hard to pick a favorite shop—this whole lists boasts places of charm with a lovely selection of paper goods. I do have a serious soft spot for anything letterpress.

What kind of camera do you use?
I have a Nikon D90. I primarily use an 18-105 mm lens. And occasionally I take quickies with my iPhone. The Polaroid app I use is ShakeItPhoto — it’s very fancy.
